students in Mr. Schemrich's class created bowls for a local foodbank fundraiser, “Empty Bowls.”
Here's how it works: students, artists, and craftspeople created
vessels that soup can be served in. Donors then pick a bowl from all that are
created and in it they receive a simple soup and bread.
"It is a cool
take on the normal fundraiser galas," said Mr. Schemrich.
Each bowl provides 120 meals for those in need, according to organizers.
Students chose to donate their creations with no class requirement to do so.
